Ajay setup PayMate in 2006. Prior to this, Ajay founded Coruscant Tec in 2003 under which the payment platform was developed and spun-off into PayMate. Ajay is a serial entrepreneur, and as the Managing Director of PayMate, he takes care of the day-to-day operations, marketing, ideation, business development and overall strategy.

With a background in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Ajay has had an early exposure to Internet technologies. Prior to Coruscant Tec, Ajay founded Webresource, a Web applications and design company, which had executed several key projects both in the domestic and international market.

At Coruscant Tec, Ajay has been key to establishing major alliances including Air Games Wireless, Inc of Vancouver and Indiatimes (Times Group) on an exclusive basis, in addition to being directly involved in the development of key products and services of the company.

Ajay used to serve as faculty member at Xavier’s Institute of Communications, Mumbai for Internet related subjects.

Probir has over 15 years of experience in technology, operations, strategy and playing leadership roles in diverse environments. He was Vice President (Technology) at NewsCorp’s Star TV India, Member of their Executive Committee and Director, News Television India Limited. He was also Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman.

After that he was Chief Operating Officer Euro RSCG Interactive–the world’s No-1 New Media company and Chief Technology Officer of Euro RSCG Advertising, India & Middle East and on their Worldwide IT Board.

Before he moved to the private sector and now as an entrepreneur he worked with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna from torial Advisory Board of NETWORK MAGAZINE, Vice Chairman, Internet & Mobile Technical Committee, (MRUC) of an Expert Member of the Indian Merchants Chamber’s, National Technology Committee. He also writes on IT and internet for the Financial Express, Business Standard and Economic Times

Ajit joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in 2003. His areas of investment include enterprise software and services, material science pertinent to energy, environment and life sciences.

Before joining KPCB, Ajit was with SAP for 5 years. At SAP, he worked for Dr. Hasso Plattner, CEO, Chairman and co-founder, SAP. Ajit played a key role in formulating and executing SAP's internet strategy (mySAP.com). He co-founded SAPMarkets, a fully owned company of SAP, focusing on Marketplace applications and technology. As the Managing Director of SAPMarkets Americas, Ajit grew the business to $100 million in six quarters. In 2002, he laid the foundation for SAP Inspire, SAP's New Venture Unit.

Prior to SAP, Ajit worked for six years in the medical device industry, first at Zimmer, Inc., a division of Bristol Myers and Squibb and then at Mathys AG (Synthes) in Switzerland. During this period, he managed the development of several new product lines and received seven U.S. and four European patents.

Ajit has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering Poona (COEP), India. He holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech, a PhD in Biomechanics from the Technical University of Hanover, Germany, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Sandeep Murthy is a Partner at Sherpalo Ventures focused on investment opportunities in India. Sandeep also evaluates and manages investments in India for Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers. Sandeep serves on the Board of Info Edge India Pvt. Ltd., the company that runs the websites Naukri.com, Jeevansathi and 99Acres.

Sandeep has spent the past few years in the Internet space in the US most recently working at IAC/InterActive Corp, the owners of companies such as Expedia, Match.com, CitySearch, Gifts.com and other online businesses. Prior to joining IAC, Sandeep worked at Sony Music in the new technology group where he focused on launching a digital music service for Sony Music. Sandeep began his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston in their Technology Group in Palo Alto, California. Sandeep holds an MBA from the Wharton School as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Wharton School.

S.Vishvanathan is a Rank Holding Chartered Accountant and also a qualified Cost Accountant. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he joined A F Ferguson & Co. A prestigious firm of Chartered Accountants and obtained rich exposure of handling big corporate houses.

Thereafter, he started his own practice and his consultancy was & is focused on new technology companies and entities with potentially strong brands.

Dhruv Singh, as Vice President – North America Operations is responsible for leading the growth initiatives in this region that is focused on providing mobile payment solutions to the cross border remittance and the US unbanked consumer markets

Dhruv Singh was previously Director of Worldwide Business Development at AMD where he was responsible for all Go-To-Market and Sales Development strategies, initiatives, and execution for the HP world-wide account. Prior to that Mr. Singh led the world-wide corporate and professional graphics sales and business development efforts at ATI Technologies. Mr. Singh will be based out of PayMate’s San Jose office.

Hozefa Muchhala was one of the first employees of PayMate. In the last 3 years, Hozefa has been instrumental in building the entire software engineering team which today forms the backbone of PayMate.

He comes from a very strong background in software development, having extensive experience of 14 years on Microsoft platform. His expertise ranges on multiple domains majorly focused in banking, finance services and mobile Commerce. He has also developed and managed cross functional teams to lead large international projects in UK and Australia.

Mahesh Sharma is Assistant Vice President at PayMate and heading the ISS (Information Systems & Security) Department. He reports into the founder & Managing Director of PayMate. He is responsible for over all IT Domain of PayMate. He has more than 13 years of vast experience in Information Technology, IT Operations and worked as leader to decide the company’s IT Policies & Procedures.

His prior assignment has been with IBM Global Services as Head IT. He has worked with few other big names like ENRON, VFS, Escotel Mobile Communications Ltd.

Tanul has largely worked in Alliances, Product Management and start up environments in her career spanning nearly 10 years. Used to ambiguity and risks, her forte is in incubating new businesses and monetizing them.

Her experience spans across Media, Cinema and Telecom with brands such as Inox, Tata Communications and CNBC. Prior to joining PayMate Tanul led the Retail Products and VAS team at Reliance Broadband.

At PayMate Tanul is responsible for driving revenues from across all product lines through existing partnerships and new strategic initiatives.

Deepak brings with him over 12 years of experience in Business Development, Operations, Product Management, Solution Designing and Key Account Management in the IT services space. He holds more than 8 years of experience in managing the BFSI sector as a focus segment working with organizations such as IBM, Diebold and Reliance Communications.

Prior to joining PayMate, he was associated with Reliance Communications Limited as National Key Account Manager where he worked with several corporate clients in the BFSI/NBFC, Retail, and Manufacturing verticals.

Deepak has joined the team at PayMate as AVP-Banking Alliances and Sales

Thyagarajan started his career in the general insurance industry but subsequently has been associated with reputed Payments focused companies in the last 13 years. A domain expert in the field of cross border remittances, he has evangelized several models for Banks in India and overseas entities, which include exchange houses, Overseas Correspondent Banks and Banks in India having overseas Branches. These niche models are enabled as Payment options on various delivery channels of Banks and also as a Batch speed transfer mode.

At PayMate, thyagarajan drives the strategy for enabling online anywhere to anywhere remittance models, leveraging on the PayMate footprints across various geographies.

Vijay Narayanan is an accomplished program manager with over 10 years of experience spanning across the software and hardware industry. He plays the key role of coordinating between the internal teams in PayMate for requirements gathering, functional design, scheduling, UAT & post sales support.

Vijay holds an MBA and a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Vijay has held key roles in organisations like TVS Electronics, Flextronics and Hungama before joining PayMate in 2007.

He heads the Program Management, Customer Care & Risk Management functions in PayMate. Vijay’s forte lies in designing and execution of products and projects.

Alex is the Managing Director of Conde Nast, a US based publishing house which has titles such as GQ, Glamour, Traveller and Vanity Fair under its umbrella. Prior to this, he was Managing Director, MTV Networks India & Executive Vice President, MTV Networks Asia. During his tenure, MTV was transformed from a single channel to a dynamic network consisting of three channels with the launch of kids' channel Nick and, most recently, VH1, India's only international music & lifestyle channel.

Nominated by Ernst & Young as 'Entrepreneur of the Year' in 2002, Alex and his team steered MTV to new heights, winning more than 80 national and international awards including Most Outstanding Brand of the Year, Media Brand of the Year, Best Music Channel, a clean sweep at the Promax awards, among others.

Alex featured in Business India's "people to watch out for in the new millennium" issue, Mid Day's 50 most powerful people in media in 2002 & 2003, a lead story on MTV India in Fortune's August 30, 2004 issue, articles in New York Times etc. He has been a regular speaker at industry events organized by FICCI, CII and institutes like the Indian School of Business as well as made presentations to the Chief Minister of Kerala on building Brand Kerala. He is a founder director of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation.

Sunil N. Phatarphekar is the proprietor of SNP Legal (Advocates), a Mumbai law firm.

After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce & also Law, he joined Crawford Bayley & Company, a prestigious Mumbai law firm.

Thereafter, he was a partner at two law firms, Mahimtura & Co and Shah Desai Doijode & Phatarphekar.

His practice was and continues to be primarily in the corporate field with specialization in M&A, Joint Ventures and Collaborations and in the last few years he has done a lot of work for clients in new technologies.

He is also a director on the board of Rediff.com India Limited-ADR(REDF:US).
